If you’re looking for the best postcard view in the Zell am See Kaprun region, you’ll find it on the Mitterberg. Whether summer or winter, here you really do have the perfect view across the lake to the Kitzsteinhorn and the Hohe Tauern. Perfect, of course, with good visibility and sunshine…and if you get a spot on the house wall, you can even enjoy the view from the terrace in winter when the weather is fine.

We recommend the homemade cakes and, for example, the cheese dumplings. From spring to fall, the playground is also a great place for the kids to run around. And if you stay seated long enough, you can even experience an unforgettable sunset.

The Klammsee, a world of its own at any time of year … and not far from the Dorfchalets and Kaprun. Just take the road in the direction of the Kitzsteinhorn, but it’s best to walk through the beautiful Sigmund Thun Gorge first (free of charge with the summer card) … takes about 20 minutes and is no problem even for children from about 4 years of age, a carrier is recommended for small children.

Berry & mushroom season

Every year, around the beginning of August, it starts … depending on the weather, the chanterelles, porcini mushrooms and cranberries (blueberries) sprout from the ground. It must be something like a primal urge, because it’s so much fun looking for mushrooms and berries.
