Mooserboden reservoirs & herb trail

Free of charge with the Zell am See-Kaprun Summer Card

The high mountain reservoirs, also known as Mooserboden, are also a very special highlight in Kaprun, especially in combination with the herbal hiking trail to the Fürthermoaralm… a turquoise blue reservoir in front of the glacier backdrop and even a free excursion with the Zell am See Kaprun summer card 😎💪🏼

  • Child-friendly (some even suitable for baby carriages)
  • Imposing nature
  • Instructive

The best way to get here is by car in the direction of the Kitzsteinhorn as far as the parking garage. Drive upwards as far as possible, unlike normal.

Then take the bus to the inclined elevator, then take the convertible elevator to the top (it’s best for children to have chewing gum, pacifiers or something similar with them) and then take the bus again to the Mooserboden.

At Mooserboden at around 2000 m you can either simply walk over the dam walls (suitable for baby carriages), enjoy the view or take the guided tour Erlebniswelt Strom – there is always a children’s tour on Tuesdays.

The mountaineering bus also departs at 06:45 in the morning for all those who want to use the reservoirs as a starting point for a high alpine hike to the Wiesbachhorn or the Heinrich-Schwaiger-Haus. Both highly recommended, but only for experienced riders.

And at the very end, you can put your feet up and enjoy the view from the Fürthermoaralm from.

Have fun exploring!
