Alexander-Enzinger-Weg

Where the oimresal wochsn

Also known as the Almrosenweg in Pinzgau, the connecting path between Maiskogel and Kitzsteinhorn is an absolute highlight all summer long and offers magical views of the surrounding mountains – you should be sure-footed and free from giddiness 😉

  • For sporty hikers without fear of heights
  • Rather fair weather program, not in wet weather due to risk of slipping
  • not suitable for small children and also not recommended with a dog

The tour starts at the mountain station of the glacier lift at the Alpincenter at 2,452 m. Head north here and follow the signs, trail no. 5, in the direction of Krefelder Hütte. From the Krefelder Hütte, you now follow the beautiful high-altitude trail, the Alexander-Enzinger-Weg, over the Grubmalkar to the Stangenhöhe at 2,212 m.

Soon afterwards you reach the Schoppachhöhe at 2,069 m and then the Dreiwallnerhöhe. Here you finally descend to the rustic Glocknerblick hut (Kaiserschmarrn & view of the Großglockner highly recommended ;-)) and reach the Maiskogelbahn mountain station in a few minutes. This takes you directly to the center of Kaprun.

Incidentally, we professional Kaiserschmarrn testers also recommend the Salzburger Hütte as a nice stopover if you’re heading uphill from the Maiskogel.

Happy Hiking … where the Oimresal wochsn and the Enzian bliaht ***

Relaxed Christmas time in the Dorfchalets

“At the beginning of December, all ski resorts open and you can make your first turns on the slopes as you please. As there are no vacations yet, the slopes are relatively empty and nothing stands in the way of the ultimate skiing fun. Then off to the Tauernspa, as admission to the sauna and water world is included once per day and person in your stay in the village chalets. Here you can revitalize your tired bones and recover from the day’s skiing to be fit again for the next adventure.
