A day of skiing like a dream
March is simply the best time to ski … your toes no longer freeze, the slopes allow you to make long turns again and the sun is already strong enough to keep you in your deckchair a little longer.

The perfect day of skiing in spring starts early – because the slopes are perfectly groomed ;-). We try to catch one of the first gondolas at the Maiskogel valley station, and with a change to the spectacular 3K K-onnection, we make our way up to the Kitzsteinhorn.
At lunchtime, we head to the Gletschermühle for a Kaspressknödel soup, my favorite when skiing, a hearty source of energy for tired muscles.😋😋😋
And on we go … Once again making the most of the fantastic weather: Maurerkogel, Kristallbahn and then down Langwied.
Finally, back to the Maiskogel with the 3K K-onnection and up and down the Schermerhang a few more times with the Almbahn. One of the most perfect slopes for me.
Finally, we head to the Glocknerblick hut for a Kaiserschmarrn with a cappuccino and then enjoy the sun for a while – in peace and quiet – because there’s no annoying après-ski music here … oh how nice, my body really needs that vitamin D!
Hopefully this was a good inspiration for the perfect ski day in Kaprun in spring for you…
Enjoy and see you 😉

If you’re looking for the best postcard view in the region, you’ll find it on the Mitterberg. It is also an ideal starting point for a hike up the Schwalbenwand and, thanks to the Berggasthof Mitterberg, you can even enjoy coffee, cake and other simple, down-to-earth regional dishes.
The high mountain reservoirs are also a very special highlight in Kaprun … a turquoise blue reservoir in front of the glacier backdrop and even a free excursion with the Zell am See Kaprun summer card
